TOMOMI KATO
Tomomi Kato's healing piano
For me now, music is a momentary light, and even though that light may not always be visible, it undoubtedly supports my life.
Playing music every day is a meaningful ritual that helps me to confirm my very existence, my thoughts, and my feelings. It is not a simple ritual, and it is not only for fun. My heart quivers as I feel the joy and recall the tears and smiles of people - the emotional responses that the music invokes in them.
The transition from childhood to adulthood is easier for some than others. For me, when I was young, I searched deeply to understand myself, and this process was like being lost in a dark forest. It took a long time to find the light after that darkness, but it also helped me to learn to live my own way. What remained after this inner voyage was my healthy body and an undeniable desire to play music. The sound of the piano for me was mana from heaven.
The sounds of my piano may seem dark, and at times may even sound sad. I use the word "healing," to describe it; for times of mental fatigue or when life feels overwhelming, I hope that my music is will feel like a comforting presence by your side.
I hope it will be received in the same way by those who feel similar pulses and resonances.
